Just wanted to share a fun organizational site I get good ideas from occasionally - http://www.flylady.com/ - Lots of ideas on keeping the house clean - and much more. It presents the idea of cleaning for YOU. Not for anyone else, but for YOUR sake, because YOU like to feel organized and smart and clean and all that mushy stuff. I like that idea, personally. :) Because if I'm doing it for myself, I'm probably doing it better than if I was doing it for someone else. I also think that the verse in...Ephesians(?) that says to do your work for God, rather than for men is very applicable to that, too. If you're doing it for God and for your own benefit, you'll probably do an even better job, right?
A good idea that it has is not stressing over stuff - on a designated day, take 1 hour for cleaning, and spend 10 minutes in each area that needs cleaning. Guess what? It works! Yesterday when I was putting together supper, I had like...8 minutes or so until 6:20. Dirty dishes surrounded me, so I decided to wipe cabinets, unload the dishwasher, and load the dishwasher for 8 minutes. I felt so organized when I got done! I had gotten a lot more done than if I had simply left it for Mom to do, and I hadn't taken a lot of time! Voila! The secret is out!
You might look at the site and say..."this is for Mom, not for me"... don't say that. The ideas on there work for any task! Like this morning...Mom had left 5 minutes in between Latin and Writing. In that 5 minutes, I was able to organize my pajama/socks/etc. drawer that's been hanging over me for the past 2 weeks! Anyway, I'll stop ranting now. Hope this benefits you in some way!
