...captivated...: dogs

I am sad to inform everyone that our sweet dog, Trixie, (pictured below) has run away. ;'(

Yesterday morning, when Dad was about to leave, he noticed that the gate to the backyard was wide open. He checked the dogs, Trixie was gone, Feathers (our loyal one) was still here. Now, this is not the first time Trixie has run away, so the Animal Control lady is looking for her, and knows her pretty well. Hmph. Our theory about Trixie is that, since we haven't had her since birth, she's not very attached to us. Feathers is, because we've had her since she was very young. But Trixie is not. Pray that we find her!

****Update: she was found by animal control, we had to shell out $15 to get her back, she is settled safely in the backyard again, end of story. Happy ending!*****

Since I have started receiving complaints about no new post over the weekend, I guess I'll have to come up with something really spicy to make up for it. This post comes with pictures! =D

On Thursday...

Mom and I planted a blackberry bush, a raspberry bush, lettuce, and spinach. Austin and Adam were kept busy pulling weeds that are ALREADY showing up. Here Mom is shown watering our gorgeous strawberry plants! A closeup of those, later.

Carson was supposed to be pulling weeds too. Did he do it? No. "I am so tired, I can't!" Therefore he goofed off on his playhouse while we had fun working. :p No, seriously, I love working with the garden. ;)My darling dog, Trixie, who is a butterball and who loves to chill in the shade.

The energetic bundle of joy! Feathers, my sheltie. Cutie, huh?!

The promised strawberry plant! Yay!!! Look at the strawberries that are developing! We have maybe 8 plants. They will produce some this year, but next year they'll produce a lot more. :D Eagerly awaiting fresh strawberries!

Friday:

Choir! It went great. Liz thinks that Mrs. Janelle doesn't like her...I think that Mrs Janelle just comes across as a little grumpy, even though she really isn't. I am working on my voice here at home because it is somewhat nasally or...something. She says to use my head voice. What does that mean?! It just hasn't clicked for me yet. I don't sound exactly like the other altos, so something's up. Therefore, I am reading a book that hopefully will help before a singing camp this summer. ;D More on that later, perhaps.

I also took a science test. Guess my score? 58. Yeah. I made a 58 on a Biology test. Not good. At least I've had pretty good grades so far in it! I think what killed me is that they had several things that were not in the study guide, like all the different fins of a shark. It was not mentioned in the study guide! Hmph. Grrrr.

I also watched Love's Unending Legacy for the first time! (With my brothers, who admit that it's a good show!) My comments...

Zach looks like Zac Efron. Is it just me?
Missy always starts the kisses. ALWAYS! What about letting the man take leadership in a relationship! Tsk, tsk.
Clark and Missy have a talk on a hill, then Clark leaves Missy to think. The weird thing is, he says the exact same things that he said in the first movie to Marty at the same place! Very strange.

That's it, but anyway, I had fun taking notes through the move. Makes me feel like a critic. :p

Saturday:

I slept in until noon, spent the afternoon watering the spinach and lettuce and stuff, little things like that, then went to a Movie Night for the teens in my church group with Laurel, Bethany, and Kayla. We watched the newer Freaky Friday. Good points, and such an interesting movie! Beware the fortune cookies!

Sunday:

Church, the N. family was there, so they came over to our house for lunch, and we girls watched the last half of Love's Long Journey, and all but the last 30 minutes of Love's Abiding Joy. Church in the evening, then came home to oooh and aah over these guys' performance at LTC that I found on Youtube! You can see me at the end of the video standing up.

(The movie is Waterview Church of Christ Boys Choir, 9th-12th, at NTLTC 2009, at the same location as us! There is also a video of their Girls Choir, that several people think were better than the guys...I'll see if I can post it sometime later.)
