I'm listening to Something Crazy by Steven Curtis Chapman. It's been a week since I've posted - scary! School has been great. Today was my first official day of morning online classes - 5:00 again! Got ready as fast as possible, took my before-breakfast supplements, flat-ironed my hair (that's new!) and then Mom told me that breakfast was ready, so I prayed with her, then took a bite of scrambled eggs. As soon as I swallowed, my blood sugar or blood pressure DROPPED or something. *Now I'm listening to Agnus Dei byDarlene Dszchech* My skin, or bone marrow, or something in my limbs just HURT; Instant headache; Pain in my Gut and Stomach; and Naseousness. Majorly scary! (And painful!) At first it wasn't so bad, so I took a few more bites, but it kept getting worse, so I told Mom about it and went and sat in a recliner in our living room. She gave me some stuff to hopefully make me feel better, and my joints were aching really bad. I sat there for a while, and finally she notified me that I needed to get into my online class - it was 6:45. I was feeling a little better (no more nauseousness - that makes all the difference!!!), so I hobbled to my room, sat down in front of my laptop, and logged on. Now I feel fine. Weird, huh?
Summary of Science Class: My teacher is really nice, yet sometimes get sidetracked easily. Maybe that was just because it was the first day, and she's trying to get to know us. (?) Also, there's a lot of online helps, you can pair up with a study buddy on some website she knows about, and practice for tests and stuff, study vocab and everything. One of the most interesting things (I thought) was that one of the kids in my class lives in Naples, Italy!!! Right on the Carribean!! Cool or what? Also, I think that another person lives in Beijing! AWESOMENESS! Besides learning about deoxyribonucleic acid and how an organism is programmed by it, *now I'm listening to I Believe in You by Joy Williams* I get to know people from around the world!!! I had to leave class early because she was going overtime and I had to get to Omnibus class, which was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!! See next paragraph for that info. :)
Summary of Omnibus: AWESOME!!! Amazing!!! Kids in my class are neat, EVERYTHING about the class is so STIMULATING!!!!! My teacher is the awesomest teacher in the world! *now I'm listening to Forever by Chris Tomlin* Last night was a bit of a late-nighter because I was working on the questions in *good grief! My eye has a tic and is driving me CrAzY!!* the Omnibus assignment, which were, like, MAJORLY deep. BUT, I did a really great job, so when the question was asked in class, I was really prepared and impressed the teacher. :D (Brownie points for Stephanie!!!) At least, he was pretty happy with them. From the General Information above answer the following questions:
1. What was happening in England when the Westminister Confession was being drafted?
The great migration to America had begun, London was afflicted with a great plague, then a great fire, the nation erupted into a civil war, Charles I was deposed from the throne and executed, Oliver Cromwell would not take the throne and instead became Lord Protector. After Oliver’s death, his son Richard could not hold things together, so Charles II was called to the throne in what is called the Restoration. Afterwards, many Puritan ministers were persecuted for their supposed role in England’s troubles. It was during these troubled times when the men of the Westminister Assembly were requested to “do theology!”
2. What were the parties or factions represented in the Westminister Assembly?
The four basic groups represented in the Westminister Assembly were the Episcopalians (Anglicans), the Presbyterians, the Independents, and the Erastians.
3. Why is the triune nature of God so important?
God’s triune nature is important because in order for God to be loving, just, compassionate, and so forth – it is necessary for Him to be triune. Triune means “three in one.” “In the unity of the Godhead there be three persons, of one substance, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.” (WCF 2.3) Each person of the Trinity is eternal, meaning that the Trinity did not begin at a certain point, being mere unity before that. This triunity displays the unfathomable depth of God – if God’s nature was not triune, we might be lacking the comfort of the Spirit, the redeeming mediation of the Son, and the justice and mercy of the Father.
4. When Jesus became a man, who was becoming man?
The only begotten Son of God, the second person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ, who willingly left the glory of heaven to come to this dark world to fulfill his mission as Savior of Mankind.
5. What is the relationship of repentance and faith to salvation?
True faith is not possible apart from repentance; Repentance is necessary to salvation, but must never be thought of as the cause of it. No man was ever saved apart from repentance, but repentance is not the reason God saves him – it is one of the instruments of Salvation. Repentance acknowledges the need to turn away from the old life of sin, and faith leads the seeker to turn to God and be saved.
6. What are the two sacraments of the church?
The two sacraments of the Church are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
7. What does it mean to receive the sacraments worthily?
To receive the sacraments worthily means to inwardly, by faith, not carnally and corporally, but spiritually, to receive and feed upon Christ crucified, and all the benefits of His death, and these also being spiritually present to the faith of believers. We feed upon Christ by faith. We feed spiritually through the bread and wine presented to our outward senses – Christ is presented in the sacrament.
8. What is meant by the “visible catholic church”?
“The visible catholic church” means the universal Christian church.
Question to Consider for Session II: Discussion: Who is God, and how do we know who He is? God is the Being perfect in power, wisdom, and goodness who is worshipped as creator and ruler of the universe. God is three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost – the Father is of none, neither begotten, nor proceeding; the Son is eternally begotten of the Father; the Holy Ghost eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son. We know who God is by his characteristics: “living, true, infinite in being and perfection, a most pure spirit, invisible, without body parts, or passions, immutable, immense, eternal, incomprehensible, almighty, most wise, most holy, most free, most absolute; working all things according to the counsel of his own immutable and most righteous will, for his own glory; most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, abundant in goodness and truth, forgiving iniquity, transgression, and sin; the rewarder of them that diligently seek him; and withal, most just, and terrible in his judgments, hating all sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty. God hath all life, glory, goodness, blessedness, in and of himself; and is alone in and unto himself all-sufficient, not standing in need of any creatures which he hath made, nor deriving any glory from them, but only manifesting his own glory in, by, unto, and upon them. (WCF 2.3, 2.4)
Wow! *Now I'm listening to Here With Me by MercyMe* Big, huh? I took the answers to the #d questions from the Omnibus chapter, and a little bit from myself. :) Ok, I need to get away from this enormous text blog above this little paragraph here! It's limitating my creativeness!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!! Time to add a picture to give me some space here. *Now I'm listening to All the Earth will Sing Your Praises by Lincoln Brewster* This picture is what's my desktop background right now - It's part of the WWII memorial in Washington, D.C.
Ok...I feel freer down here. So, the new idea of mine that might fly and might not, is that I write a short story/novella/book in the "tagboard" section of the blog! *Now I'm listening to Tonight by Jeremy Camp* I feel very inspired to do that. Looking for encouragement, peoples! Ideas, too! Email me any! unfadingbeauty13@gmail.com Well, lunch is awaiting me, and I'll maybe get back 2 you later.
See ya!
